Celsius to Fahrenheit Conversion
How to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit
The relationship between temperature in Celsius (ToC) and temperature in Fahrenheit (ToF) is given below:
ToC = (ToF - 32)/1.8
Alternatively, it can also be written as:
ToC = (ToF - 32)×(5/9)
ToF = (9/5)×ToC + 32
Example
To convert 100 Celsius into Fahrenheit, the above formula can be used:
(9/5)×(100 oC) + 32 = 212 oF
Celsius
The degree Celsius is a unit of temperature on the Celsius scale. The degree Celsius (symbol: oC) refers to a specific temperature on the Celsius scale or a unit to indicate a difference between two temperatures. Since 1743 the Celsius scale has been based on 0 oC for the freezing point of water and 100 oC for the boiling point of water at 1 atm pressure.
Fahrenheit
The degree Fahrenheit is a unit of temperature on the Fahrenheit scale. The degree Fahrenheit symbol is oF. The Fahrenheit scale is usually defined by two fixed points: the temperature at which pure water freezes into ice is defined as 32 oF and the boiling point of water is defined to be 212 oF, both at sea level and under standard atmospheric pressure (a 180 oF separation).
